Can you believe it? AK has been going for two years now and it is improving and growing every single day! I love being a blogger it has introduced me to new experiences and adventures, it keeps my depression at bay by keeping me busy, allowing me to be creative and put my photography skills to use.Over the two years I have learnt an awful lot about web design, SEO, content creation and marketing, and all of this led on to me getting to a job I love, without the blog I would still be working in the opticians.Blogging isn’t something that is taught it is a skill that you can develop through practice and reading, you make mistakes and you learn from them. I started my blog through weebly without any research and whilst it is a great website service it isn’t the ideal blog platform so this year I moved the blog over to wordpress, whilst this did impact my site traffic massively I believe it was the right decision and with time my traffic will slowly return to it’s high figures.Over the past month I have been experimenting with my instagram back on a personal account, I wrote about this at the beginning of June here. As I am only a part time blogger I am financially restricted with it, the blog doesn’t earn enough for it’s own up keep so I am not able to pay for social media promotion and what I have learnt from using both Instagram’s business and personal accounts is that Facebook restricts business accounts engagement and visibility, your content is only shown to a fraction of your followers unless you pay for promotion. Since being back on a personal account my followers has increased by around 150 and my engagement has increased as well so although I will be missing out on the insights it’s definitely beneficial to stay with a personal account.I have renewed my domain for another two years and I am super excited to see where my blog takes me next!
