The Harvey’s furniture & Bensons for Beds showcase 2018

They say the average person redecorates their home every ten years, a common problem most would face is co-ordinating furniture with the new colour scheme

A couple weeks ago I attended the joint showcase for Harvey’s furniture and Benson’s for beds, who teamed their furniture with the current styles and interior trends.

Harvey’s furniture has over 50 years experience in furnishing homes and has become the largest furniture specialist in the UK, here’s what they are showcasing for their new Autumn collection.

A current popular trend is contrasting tones and geometric, the Lexham dining table and chairs deliver a sophisticated touch against the grey geometric wallpaper. My favourite feature of the table is that the the top is made from concrete, it has such a smooth finish you would never thought it was!

The Lexman set will be available in late summer.

Another fab pairing with the geometric are these cream leather chairs from the Geneva range, available late Autumn.

The Sandro sofa is neutral perfection, one hundred percent leather and incredibly cosy, Tanya and I had a good chat with our prosecco on the chairs. Available early autumn.

A dining set with a modern touch, neutral meets botanical in this set up for the Ivanno table and chairs. This sleek dining table is extendable with the centre section rotating out, grey and made with tempered glass this dining set is perfect for large families or simply if the occasion pops up that you host a dinner party as it can seat 4 – 8 people. Available early Autumn.

Who doesn’t love a love seat? Designed with trend led fabrics this grey love seat from the linc range, it looks ideal in botanical surroundings, soo comfy I wouldn’t want to share. Hand crafted in Britain, available here

The Roosevelt two seater brings a retro look into the home, it has the vintage style of button back and brass feet, available in early autumn.

Benson for beds has also been around for 50 years and has expanded it’s range of bedroom furniture.

Designed in the UK but with New York in mind with this urban styled bed frame, simply called Brooklyn. Available at the end of august.

My personal favourite, the bespoke range. The bespoke range allows you to personalise the bed, you have a choice of fabric, colour, mattress filling, storage, headboards and bed bases. The set up is a summery apricot orange which is becoming a hot interior trend.

The igel bed is exclusive to bensons, it boast temperature regulating technology to ensure you stay comfortable and sleep soundly. Available in different styles, the above is called Pegasus.

For this set up they were inspired by the wabi sabi trend using the Jackson bed paired with earthy and rustic decor. The frame is made from 00% recycled solid pin and has been exclusively designed for bensons. Available at the end of September.

During our visit we had a chat with the bensons for beds buyer who informed us why visiting their showrooms is highly recommended when searching for the perfect bed. When visiting Bensons for bed they will ask you to lay on an air bed where they will slowly release air until you say so, this technique can eliminate the mattresses that are not suitable and makes your selection easier by limiting your choice down to the mattresses that provide you with your preferred firmness and comfort.

I had a fab evening at the showcase and genuinely wish I had my own home to furnish, for now I’ll stick to furnishing my bedroom and carry on dreaming of the love seat!
