Just because it’s hot and you’re on vacation, doesn’t mean you should stop exercising. You can do both without it feeling like you’re ‘working out.’ There are loads of activities than you can do that are part of the holiday, so technically you’re not doing anything – and your body will still thank you for it!
Make the most of the pool in the hotel you’re staying at, or of course – the ocean itself! Not only will the water be a cool relief, but swimming is a great form of exercise because it works your entire body, burning calories and fat while toning up at the same time. Swimming is also brilliant for joints, so if you have aches and pains – especially in the back – go for a dip. It makes you weightless remember! So transform yourself into a beautiful mermaid for the summer.
If you want to go sightseeing and have the best view of the sunset, then go for a hike. You can fly solo, or go as a group, full of other like minded people. Group activities like this are great because you get to meet others, plus you tend to have things included, like a picnic that they provide you with, and even some nice beverages. Just make sure you’re wearing suitable clothing and footwear, you can find appropriate women’s walking tops for the summer, so you’re not left on top of a mountain melting under the sun!
If you’re an animal lover, then go out on a horse riding excursion! Have a ride on the beach as the sunsets, and then stop for a cheeky cocktail before you make your way back. You would be surprised at the effects horseriding actually has! Although you’re sitting down while the horse carries you, you are engaging your core muscles the entire time, as well as your legs. – Put it this way, if you weren’t, you would fall off.
You may not notice at the time, but you will definitely feel it the next day!
Who doesn’t like to dance? Even if you have two left feet, it’s still so much fun. And when you’re on holiday, there is virtually music coming from every direction, whether that be from the bar, the restaurant, the hotel or even the beach! So get your dancing shoes on and don’t be embarrassed to have a boogie – look around – everyone else is, and you’re not going to see anyone again are you?
Plan a night out at the local bar, dress up in something nice, let your hair down and shake what your Momma gave you. It isn’t just for your body – you will release endorphins that will make you feel oh so good.
See? You can have a fun filled holiday while keeping on top of your workouts, and you won’t even realise you’re doing anything because you will be having so much fun!
