In April I started my job as an administrator & social media assistant for a small company, despite having the skills on paper I didn’t have the experience for role, and although I have days where I think “F**k, I can’t do it” I genuinely think I have taken the role head on and made it my own. I have the luxury of having my own desk, I’m left to do my work as I please using my own routines and systems, my boss actually cares if your not happy about something he wants to know why your not happy and will work with you on how it can be changed, I genuinely have the best job. This post is a little lists of items that are essential to me at work!
1. Let’s start with my bag from STM Goods, beautifully named Grace, this bag is no ordinary bag, it has been designed to safely carry tech such as iPads and laptops. Inside it has a suede/fleece hammock, it’s incredibly soft and this is designed so if I was to drop or place my bag on the floor my iPad will never touch the floor, protecting it from smashing as we all know any apple product smashes at the slightest bump! I met STM goods at the #bloggersfestival they were incredibly kind enough to gift me the Grace bag in Coral Dove , which was perfect as it matched the company colours of my new job! STM Goods design their bags to be incredibly long lasting, another ideal for me as I am notorious for using a bag until the handles fall off or they split! Would 100% recommend STM Goods for your work & Tech accessory needs.
I don’t work in an office but my desk is in a showroom that to be honest functions more like an office and sadly we do not have air con, but being on accutane my lips are dryer than an desert so this next item is an desk must have. On my desk I keep 3 tubes of Dr PawPaw multi balms, the original, the red tinted and the peach tinted, probably excessive but least I’m prepared if I needed a tinted balm. “For lips, skin, hair and beauty finishing, cuticles and nails. Dr.PAWPAW Original balm provides relief for dry irritated skin and moisturises lips, nails, cuticles and dry cracked skin such as heels, hand and elbows. It can also be used to add finishing touches to hair, brows and for cosmetic finishing.”
3. Portable Memory
Being a blogger and a social media assistant means my memory gets very stretched! and keeping the two separate is vital. Two manage the storage of both my blog and my works social media content I use two devices. The first is my lip shaped 2GB USB stick from Lulu Guinness, I know what your thinking, who uses USB sticks anymore?! Well I do! I use this to store content from my work Mac. The second device is the dual USB drive 3.0 from SanDisk, it has 32GB, this allows me to free up space on my phone! I move all my work content on this tiny device as I get sent 10-20 photos a day through my work whatsapp! It’s truly a blogger must have!
4. Hand sanitizer.
I’m religious with my hand sanitizer at work, my fav to use is Merci Handy, as you can see below I’m in need of a restock! Mercia handy is a cleansing gel, it’s perfumated beautifully and contains cleansing pearls that keep your hands soft unlike most sanitizer that dry out your skin. I use this after every bathroom break (yes, I still do was my hands as well) and after I’ve eaten so my desk is kept nice and clean.
5. DriveSafe Lenses.
I am short sighted, I can’t leave the house without my glasses, in my previous job I worked as a Optical Consultant so I know how to look after my eyes and use products that work bests for me. I would love to be able to wear contact lenses everyday but as a dry eye sufferer I’m not able to, contact lenses are most the time not recommended for full time wear for PC workers. PC workers tend to suffer with dry eyes, this is due to staring at a screen all day causes us to naturally forget to blink! In my glasses I have choose to have DriveSafe lenses by Ziess , designed for drivers but equally as useful for office workers by the way they reduce glare and adapt to the pupil so your vision is increased even in low light conditions.
What are your work must haves?
